ORO DEL DESIERTO ORGANIC ORIGEN PICUAL is an single-origin limited edition, medium intensity organic extra virgin olive oil produced by Oro del Desierto from Picual de Almería variety olives in the Sierra de Filabres foothills in Almería, Spain. This exclusive oil is the product of an ancestral variety of Picual olives native to the area near the Tabernas Desert. Once nearly extinct, this cultivar now thrives on a very small mountainous farm at 850 meters altitude and reaches peak ripeness (70% green) late in December.

A golden color, it has a complex fruity aroma with nuances of green pepper, walnuts, almonds, artichoke, and green herbs. There is a sweet entry with a bitter low and spicy finish, harmonious and reminiscent of walnuts and sage. It pairs well with sauces, sautéed and grilled vegetables, fish, white meats, or over fresh breads. Suitable for cooking and dressing dishes.
